When Life Hands You Lemons...

It has been an interesting summer in the life of Katy Worsley. I want to express a deep and fervent appreciation to all those who have been supportive and loving throughout the highs and lows. Through traveling, studying, loving and losing I have never faltered in understanding one thing- the Lord loves me and wants me to carry on. While reading one of President Monson's talks and I came across this lovely quote:

“Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend … when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present—love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us [happiness]—the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth.”
-Sarah Ban Breathnach

So I am doing just that. I don't need to focus on the fact that I didn't get what I wanted. I am going to focus on what I have. I have great friends. Loving family. Supportive parents. An able mind. A testimony of a loving Father in Heaven. A brother and Savior who understands. And to relate this post to its original purpose, I've got a bit of talent. So I commence a series of new projects, the largest of which is a new duvet cover. The progression of my endeavors will be documented right here. As always, thanks for following!

  3. Katy, I don't know what has been going on in your life and that makes me so sad. But just know that I love you and if you ever need anything I am just a phone call away. I love your positive outlook on everything; that is truly one things I grew to love about you the few months we lived together. On a lighter note, I can't wait to follow your duvet and other projects. You were right about having talent! Yeah! I made pillows for my couch, but they are nothing like yours. You did inspire me though. :)

  4. What a great idea! Out with the old...in with the new! What a great idea...did I already say that? I do know what is going on in your life and have every confidence that each day you will find a reason to smile and love and serve. It's just who you are.
    I love you...
