Renovate. Revamp. Redesign.

So I have developed a new addiction, and it is called interior decorating. This china set is my most prized possession. It serves the dual purposes of dishes and decoration. With the new semester came the opportunity to move into a new bedroom, redecorate the bathroom and make my bedroom a sanctuary, so I did just that. Much love to all those who make me laugh and who encourage me to move forward. Also a special thanks to all those who helped me discover my own tastes and preferences. I feel like the following pictures display a life that is "very Katy." These are the plates I stole from my mother's closet. They now hang above my kitchen sink. This is a frame that I painted, filled and hung in my bathroom. The art is most definitely copied off the internet. Sorry Mr. Artist Man. This is my bathroom. It is the home of the very best bubble baths. My space dot com Thanks for following!

Thats what I'm doing these days

A casual bike ride up the Provo canyon trail lead me to a majestic sight I had not anticipated. There I was huffing and puffing my way up the gradual incline expecting only to be rewarded by the beautiful view I was receiving along the way. Wrong. I was pedaling my little heart out and stumbled across the base of the infamous bridal veil falls. It was breathtaking, and made my efforts against gravity on my single gear beach cruiser beyond worthwhile. I now bike up there regularly throughout the week. The next image depicts a few other secret reservoirs of "happy" for me. I've been working on a friend's bridesmaid dress for her brother's wedding and halfway through the project I had to smile. A fundamental principal of physics was manifesting itself on my pin-cushion. (Which coincidentally is not a cushion at all, rather a piece of magnetized metal). I was witnessing the repulsive nature of similarly charged substances, along with the conducting nature of met...

A Woman Obsessed.

So I have the tendency to work until I finish a project, even if it means I lose out on things like eating and sleeping. I just get too excited? I thank my hardworking/overactive parents for this character trait. Here is the finished product. I am sitting on it as we speak and anxiously await a restful night's sleep within its loving arms of beauty and comfort. Thanks for following! Pillow #1 Pillow #2 The final product

When Life Hands You Lemons...

It has been an interesting summer in the life of Katy Worsley. I want to express a deep and fervent appreciation to all those who have been supportive and loving throughout the highs and lows. Through traveling, studying, loving and losing I have never faltered in understanding one thing- the Lord loves me and wants me to carry on. While reading one of President Monson's talks and I came across this lovely quote: “Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend … when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present—love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us [happiness]—the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth.” -Sarah Ban Breathnach So I am doing just that. I don't need to focus on the fact that I didn't get what I wanted...

Butcher, Tailor, or Candlestick Maker?

I have now used the skills I acquired in my sewing class last semester to alter clothing. Two projects come to mind. 1)When my little sister Annie came to Utah we made an obligatory pit stop at the Gateway, and by association, Anthropology. I found a beautiful skirt with a black lace overlay- with the black silk lining ending with a 6 inch long border of petite pleats. This description is obviously not doing this baby justice. It was originally priced at $278.00 without taxes. It was on SALE for $19.99, but unfortunately was 4 sizes too big. I took it home and brought in the side seams in the hip area... and now it is one of my most prized possessions. 2) My friend Jeffrey Nuckols spends a lot of time working in the temple, and upon discovering my skill he asked me to alter his white pants. I was hesitant at first... Am I allowed to do that?? But when I found that he was duct taping the hems (which were a good 4-5 inches too long for him) I knew it was my obligation to fix the p...

Celtics

Image
So Kath and I found ourselves in quite the predicament, you see we were invited to attend the Jazz/Celtics game last night... but we had zero Boston gear. (Kathleen should be ashamed of herself) So we ran down to my favorite store, GenX, got some green tee's and made our own iron on patches with some white broad cloth, a picture of a clover, and some iron on paper stuff. INNOVATIVE. We had a blast and were booed left and right for our support of the Celtics, but we are used to people being offended at our superior tastes. GO CELTS
